17 And the amists‍ of darkness are the temptations of the devil, which blindeth‍ the eyes, and hardeneth the hearts of the children of men, and leadeth them away into broad‍ roads, that they perish and are lost.

-broad roads, not narrow...easy to get lost and hard to see where you are headed.(Feb. 2012)





1 Nephi 11:21
21 And the angel said unto me: Behold the aLamb‍ of God, yea, even the bSon‍ of the Eternal cFather! Knowest thou the meaning of the dtree‍ which thy father saw?

-Interesting that the Love of God is symbolized as a tree, a tree is always growing new leaves and fruit, producing over and over again, showing the eternal nature of God's love. (Feb. 2012)

11 And I said unto him: To know the ainterpretation‍ thereof—for I spake unto him as a man speaketh; for I beheld that he was in the bform‍ of a man; yet nevertheless, I knew that it was the Spirit of the Lord; and he spake unto me as a man speaketh with another.

-spirit,form- He is a seperate being.(Feb. 2012)

16 You know, brethren, that a very large ship is abenefited‍ very much by a very small helm in the time of a storm, by being kept workways with the wind and the waves.
-small helm - the Spirit. As we use the Spirit to direct us we will be able to cross the waves and bear the storm. It is the helm and not the rudder because the helm requires our involvement, we have to move it, just as we have to seek the direction of the Spirit.(Feb. 2012)

-Nephi was the one to call his family...demonstrates his leadership or role as a future leader. (Feb. 2012)

This page is a compilation of my gospel study and sort of journal of the little insights I have recieved through the Spirit . I was inspired by a story was shared in ward conference of one of our area authorities who related how as a busy attorney, father, and Bishop he carved out time to study each morning. He dedicated 30 minutes each morning, during which he would study and was able to write a book during this time. I figured if he could dedicate 30 minutes so could I. I do not expect to write a book but I hope to draw nearer to my Heavenly Father and increase my knowledge and understanding of all things eternal.
