Why do mean girls at church pretend like you are friends just because you share a religion? Cha...right!
Anyone out there that knows me, should know, I do not like people in my personal business. Honestly, I do not share much with anyone. I have trust issues(don't judge, you know you have issues too :)) Of recent I have made it onto this girl's (she will remain nameless) radar at church, no thanks to Kelli who felt it was an okay thing to share personal things about me with said frienemy. Great deflection method, talk about someone else instead of yourself. Thanks Kel.
*Saundra friend tip - if I do trust you enough to tell you something personal, do not share this information with others. This behavior will quickly earn you a friend break. Repeated offenses will more than likely lead to a permanent friend break. (I am a Lamb, we have a bit of a stubborn streak)
Back to my mean girl story, I was patiently waiting for Kelli after church, when mean girl told me, "Oh I talked to RL about you liking him, so can I give him your number? Oh, and I will double with you if you, ahhaa, have someone (meaning Jared, she thinks he's dreamy) for me to go out with, hahha". Now picture my reaction, annoyed blank stare,no words, just the face! Argh! In response to the face, she said, "don't blame me, blame Kelli". This was a good walking away point for me. Do I really even like RL, hmmmm...I thought his talk was great, he was super grounded in the gospel, which is a very attractive quality. Do I need some nosy Nancy setting me up? Ummm...NO!!! Besides, I am pretty sure he has my number and knows how to use a phone, he is a grown adult.
Dear Mean Girl,
I would never set you up with anyone I knew unless I highly disliked them and wanted to curse them with a lifetime of misery. The idea of being on a double date with you...I would rather staple my eyelids shut. Please stop talking to me.
Not your friend,
Saundra

I love this site!
I discovered this new blog from my co-worker Emily Lunt's blog, My New Roots. I already made the strawberry cake minus the rhubarb topping and even Kelli said it was good! I am excited to try some of the other recipes.
I was just reading how you can grind your own flour in the blender...even chickpea! What? Who knew?
The food photography is also top notch!

Birthday time!
Yesterday was my friend Jared's 33rd b-day...which according to him is a sad one because it is no longer evenly divided by 2!Ummm...okay. Since I am right behind him, I am thinking its sad because I only have two really good child bearing years left! Boys and girls think so differently!
We celebrated by going to one of the resturants Kelli works at, Modern Steak. It was super yummy and way too much food. They have potato, bacon, cheddar bread, it is to die for, probably in the literal sense as well...hmmm. But so worth every calorie!
Kelli made the cutest birthday platter! Yumm-o! So delicious...I recommend the fresh powdered donuts with raspberry sauce. You will have dreams about the raspberry sauce! So good!
Yay for birthdays! Happy Birthday Jareda...hope it was a good one!

Online Classes
School started last Thursday, I am taking 3 classes, 2 online and one in person. Shew! Why do they insist on requesting more homework if it is an online class. I really think the University's and professor's idea of the hourly exchange rate of lecture time vs. homework is out of balance. For example, you go to a 50 minute class 3 times a week the professor lectures on the notes/power points you already have access to, you have an assignment to do every 3 weeks or so. In online courses, I guess the professor get a little nervous that you are not spending enough time with the materials, so your have 4 assignments due every week, plus the major project every 3 weeks. If anyone thinks online equals less work...wrong oh, my friend! So why do I do it? It allows me to still work full-time, which allows me to go to school pretty much for free, sigh. Here's a thought, folks, just record lectures and post them to be watched instead of the extra work to make sure we are still paying attention? I am sure they would argue that students would not watch them, this is true for some....but do not kid yourselves professors, those in-class students "typing" away at notes during your lecture, they are just playing Farmville or checking Facebook!
House!
I finally found a house (pending inspection)! She is a HUD so she needs a little love! I will be elated to have everything finalized! It has taken sooooo long...so many offers...so many awlful houses. One thing I learned was that the Lord wants me in my ward. Everytime I tried to pick something outside the boundry...something would happen like the house would just going off the market! So strange! Did I mention it is around 110-115 outside...which means going into empty house with no power on is like walking into a brick oven....you just feel like toast!
I am requesting a collective appendage(fingers, toes, arms, legs...you get the idea) crossing from all, that there will be no major issues found during the inspection.

Baby Daniel
My brother Scott and his wife Beth had their 5th baby boy tonight at 5:45 PM! Luckily Scott made it home just in time. He had been here in Arizona delivering some equipment in Tuscon. Before leaving it is rumored that Beth threaten to NEVER forgive him if he missed this birth. Can't say as I blame her. So today when she started losing fluid, she was a little anxious to have Scott in the same state.Weird, right?! He started driving, perhaps a little too fast, made it to El Centro, CA, where two of my cousins met him, leaving one behind to drive Scott's truck and trailer the rest of the way to B-town, while he got in the plane for the hour and half flight. Reaching Bakersfield around 1:30 PM, shew! I am glad he made it safely and in time to be there for Beth.

A Baby Shower

Emily Lunt and I put together a little shower for Tim & Rosa. It was fun! I think it turned out pretty cute. Here's a photo before...I forgot to take one when the cupcakes were in place...just use your imagination. They were super pretty! :)
Emily did such a great job creating the pattern and printing the cute wrappers for the candy bars. So darn cute!

4th of July
We took a quick trip to Pismo Beach...ahhhh...the beach! Love it! It was Thomas' day with grandma so he came along too. All he would say before we left is, "I have never been in a plane before". He did great! He hardly noticed we were in a plane, entranced in a iphone game! Such a boy! He perk up a little when we asked if he wanted to fly while Grandpa took a nap! Teehee! Thanks Dad for the fun trip!!!

Cute Aprons
I made these little simple aprons...love not having homework:) They were super fast to make. The best part was that I did not have to buy anything just used the fabric, ribbon, and buttons I already had. I stole the idea from Ucreate, super cute site, love it!

Trip to Vegas
This last week I had the oportunity to go to Vegas on a work trip. Free hotel and flight, sCoRe!!! My co-worker Angie and I stayed at the Manadalay Bay for the Interopt Expo. Which was HUGE! I was shocked how big the convention center was.
Why were we there? My department is launching a new online masters program. So Angie, Bob, and I were there to recruit individuals for the program. I rather enjoyed working the Expo...it was a fantastic break from the cubical!
Our Booth

Ginormous taxi line that wrapped inside the airport.

While I was in Vegas I was able to visit with my friends Micah and Amy & Nik and their handsome little one, Benjamin. It was great to see everyone and spend sometime catching up. If only it had been longer, sigh.
I also visted the Shark Reef with Angie. Angie has a facination with the toothy creatures...ummm....as long as they are behind glass.

LAB Final Poster Project
My lab final consisted of taking one of our procedures and putting it on a group poster board...then the fun part...presenting in front of the whole class.
Our procedure involved a fake coffee pot manufacturer that had a customer complaint stating that the coffee pot did not get their water hot enough to brew the coffee. One of the formulas that you use to solve involved the deltaT symbol...so I thought it was cute to name our company DeltaT Coffee...catchy isn't? Here are some photos of our project.

The Black Keys
Kelli and I went to the live concert for The Black Keys. She loves them...me ummm...they were kind of loud and angry.I don't get why she normally like music that makes you want to fall asleep. Not at all what I was expected. I will give them some credit, they do play their instruments extremely well. At least two different groups of people smoking pot. I believe Kelli and I may have been the only two who didn't smoke cigarettes. Cage the Elephant opened for them....wouldn't recommend them either...there was one song that was okay...some other band opened for Cage the Elephant...they were for sure horrible...let's just say they sounded okay when you could only hear the instruments. Yikes! Poor sweaty, angry boys.
I vote for Taylor Swift in October.Bet you can even understand the lyrics!:)

Waiting for Cage the Elephant to finish....

All the family was there. It was a good visit.

I did it!
I rode my bike to work! It was nice. I really enjoyed the outside time. I do however need to get a backpack, the side satchel was throwing off my balance when I tried to stand/pedal up the ginormous hill. I should probably get a helmet too. Teehee!
There she sits amongst her friends.

She really needs a name...hmmm...

Adventures in the Sun!
So I had this great idea for Kelli and I to ride our bikes to Tempe Marketplace to the movies. It's only 3 miles or so from our house with sidewalks the entire way. Kelli agreed. It was actually really fun! I think I am going to ride my bike to work tomorrow...we'll see.

Closest parking ever!
Later, we helped Jared set up for a presentation at the church. Yikes for the scary, tall, and wobbly ladder.

Yay! For Fun!
My mom, Mickey (she love's it when I call her by her first name;)(teehee!) came to visit. We had a good time. We went out pricing potential finishes for my potential condo. It was fun!
Photo of potential condo living space and later referenced back doors. She needs some work...but if it's right...she'll be all mine;)

On one of our adventure I spotted this little beauty from the backside of the street. So I had to go find it! OH MY GOODNESS!

Who does that to their yard. Priceless! Self expression at its worst/best?
Later in the week, Kelli, mom, and I participated in a little B & E. Yep! Breaking and entering! Luckily no one was arrested! The condo I am trying to buy had the back door open, so we decided to hope the backfence/patio since it was locked and check things out some more. I had the stool and was suppose to be the one to jump, sadly, I couldn't stop laughing long enough to hoist myself over the railing, so Kelli did, all the while Mom was the front yard lookout! Thankfully, Kelli has great B & E skills so we were able to get in. Too fun! Life should have more experiences like this! Sigh!
