the AZ State Fair 09! Wahoo!

I just love the fair...you know where everything is dirty and the rides are unsafe. Love it! Kelli and I went to the fair for the second year in a row. We had a fantastic time.
There were lots of interesting culinary options...we played it a little safe and tried the chocolate covered bacon instead of the scorpion.

Bakersfield 5k - October 3rd, 2009

So I decided to have a 'Lamb Girls' activity...for fun...though there where many questioning voices and loud shouts of, "Fun? Running is not fun!" I must say we did have a "FuN" time! Here's a group shot of those who made...some are missing...we missed you ladies. Don't worry there is always next year! And yes, next year Garrett you can run too!

Additions to my room...

I recently framed some scrapbook paper in my room. I was super excited with the way it turned out. It helps a rental feel less like a rental. :)


This week I decided to get my clothes for the week ready on Sunday. Here's the system I came up with....

I ran my first 5k in Layton, Utah with one of my BFF's, Mary! Love ya girl! We totally rocked it! We ran the entire route and finished in just over 34 minutes. I had a great time running with Ash and Louise too! You ladies are great! We all beat the old guy with the oxygen tank. You may think that an old man with a rolling oxygen tank is no threat....but he's fast and that thing has BIG wheels! Here are some photos try to overlook my quasi-like posture, clearly I have a slouching problem. I had a great time and can't wait to do it again.

Food Storage - Canning Meat...Wha?

I found this seminar series on YouTube by Wendy Dewitt . I enjoyed learning from her experience in preparing and creating a year supply of food. She has provided her booklet on her blog, its the Wednesday, November 12, 2008 post. The booklet includes how to can meat, which I find amazing. Buying canned meat is so expensive.

2 New FaVoRitE Finds

I have two new favorite finds Band-aid Friction Stick and popchips.

My friend Angie at work told me about this stuff. I tried it. It worked GREAT!Love it! No more blisters! Wahoo! It worked with my heels and my running shoes. I even put it on a blister I already had and wore the 'attacker' shoes that had previously victimized me, I couldn't even feel the old blister, nor did it cause more damage. Wonderful! It's like a mini miricle stick. I found it at Wal-mart in the band-aid/foot section.

And now popchips! These chips are super yummy! They are not baked or fried...just mouthfuls of crunchy goodness. Muh! I could eat the whole bag! Only 120 calories per serving, 4 g of fat, and 1 g of fiber - 3 ww pts.

At Least One Paws Length

So I came home from work today to see the Kelli had made chocolate cupcakes. As I got closer I saw missing cupcakes, one that looked like someone had used a fork to scrap out just the middle, crumbs on the counter and floor. I'm thinking what in the heck is Kelli doing. Then on second thought, Molly! Yep. Kelli walked away from the cupcakes without following the rule of 'at least one paws length' back from the counter's edge. So Molly helped herself to some cupcakes. See below photos of the culprit. Molly, I caught you chocolate pawed!

Goodbye ol' pal

This blog is dedicated to the memory of our office fridge, Freddy. A moment of silence...Thanks. Here's the story, Freddy the Frigidaire. Freddy was small but reliable, he always keep our front office breakfast, lunches, and beverages cold. A extremely important job in 100 degree weather. Unfortunately, just before his passing Freddy had begun to build up layers of ice on his small freezer compartment. Jon, being a loyal friend to Freddy, offered to remove all the ice so Freddy would be free again to properly maintain his internal temperature. I told Jon to go ahead, if he knew how. I have never defrosted a freezer so I had no clue how this was to be accomplished. So I cleaned all of the fridge items out and Jon began his work on ol'Freddy. Jon was chipping away, and singing that ol' familiar tune, "I've been workin' on the railroad", to which Emily and I both laughed. Then we heard chip, chip (ice being broken from Freddy) and then a crazy, uncontrollable hissing sound, Jon saying, "Oh, no!" From that point on Freddy had to be unplugged, he was broken, he'd had enough, he simply blew his freon tube. So sad Freddy.:( You'll be missed dearly. I hope you found a happy resting place refrigerator heaven.

Little Addie

Over Memorial weekend Kelli's friends, from Vegas, Tracy, Trevor and their daughter Addison came to visit. Addie is a ball of energy. Trevor is an ophthalmologist, and both he and Tracy wear glasses. So it's no suprise that Addie wanted to wear my glasses when she saw them. Here's the pic of her Kelli took. It's too funny. I know, I know I look fabulous with my eyes closed :)
